I had a lot of white angora yarn, but not enough for an entire sweater.  I finally decided to create this sweater using the 100% angora for the bodice and 100% linen for the off-the-shoulder sleeves.  To give it some more panache, I added the knitted bobble clusters of grapes made out of the linen with angora leaves and vines.  It looks fabulous with a long black skirt and a strand of pearls. I love this poncho.  The yarn and cape style poncho pattern was purchased from my favorite Ebay seller.  I'd give you her user name, but then I'd have to kill you.  Relieved.

The yarn is actually a combination of various strands.  They are:

  • 1 strand of teal kid mohair
  • 1 strand of sage kid mohair
  • 1 strand of apple green cotton chenille
  • 1 strand of lime wool/silk tweed
  • 1 strand of viscose emerald green chenille
  • 1 strand of bright multicolored nylon pompom yarn
When I ran out of this yarn, I had to purchase a yarn that would complement this blend so that I could make it long enough.  I visited one of the 2 local yarn shops and found 2 different yarns to combine for the fur trim.  These consist of one strand of Klaus Koch Kollektion CLIP 100% mercerized cotton and one strand of On Line PUNTA 45% viscose, 45% nylon ad 10% polyacryl.  The combination looks fabulous together.
