Pattern: "Cabled Swing Cardi" by Norah Gaughan, pattern printed in The Knitter's Book of Yarn
Yarn: 2 lace-weight strands of fushia wool/cashmere (my stash) & 1 strand of Great Adirondack Petite Silk Noir in Hibiscus
Trim: Judi & Co. Rayon Ribbon yarn in Rhododendron
Needles: US size 7 in 16" and 36" circular
Modifications: The pattern calls for ribbing at the hem, collar and sleeves/full length sleeves/plain knitting up the back panel along with garter stitch where the pattern changes under the bust. I chose to eliminate the ribbing and go with a more decorative edge that incorporated hand-dyed ribbon yarn.
By creating my own yarn combination and altering the pattern I have a uniquely individual sweater. I encourage other knitters to modify the patterns they use and be creative. Who said knitting needs to be cut-and-dried???
